Nasha Zaheer RN,CDA
Nasha is an experienced sedation and emergency nurse, as well as a Certified Level II Dental Assistant, with over 15 years of experience delivering patient-centered care. Skilled in dental sedation, she ensures safety and comfort at every step. Her emergency nursing expertise and mission work in underserved communities highlight her ability to stay calm under pressure and deliver compassionate care wherever it’s needed.
With a blend of technical proficiency, clinical judgment, and a warm, reassuring presence, Nasha is a trusted partner for dental teams and a source of confidence for patients undergoing sedation.
Christy Burns, RN, BScN
Christy Burns is a Registered Nurse and Charge Nurse with nearly 15 years of experience in the Pediatric Emergency Department at McMaster Children’s Hospital, where she has worked since September 2011. She has extensive experience caring for critically ill and injured infants, children, and adolescents in a fast-paced tertiary care setting.
Throughout her career, Christy has developed significant expertise in procedural sedation, patient monitoring, airway assessment, pediatric resuscitation, trauma care, and emergency nursing. She is certified in BLS, PALS, and NRP and is trained in trauma care and pediatric triage (eCTAS).
As a Charge Nurse, Christy provides clinical leadership, supports interdisciplinary teams, coordinates patient care, and helps ensure the safe and efficient flow of the emergency department while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety and quality of care.
Known for her calm, compassionate approach and strong clinical judgment, Christy is passionate about providing safe, high-quality patient care while helping patients and families feel comfortable during potentially stressful procedures. She enjoys working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and is excited to bring her procedural sedation experience to the dental surgery setting.
Catherine Armstrong, RN
Registered Nurse | Critical Care
Born and raised in Elora, Ontario, Catherine Armstrong is a Registered Nurse with 20 years of experience in critical care. Her career has been built on compassion, dedication, and a strong commitment to providing exceptional, patient-centred care.
Catherine began her education at the University of Waterloo before continuing to the University of Toronto, where she earned her nursing degree. Throughout her two decades in critical care, she has developed extensive experience caring for patients in complex clinical environments, bringing a calm, attentive, and compassionate approach to every patient interaction.
After spending several years away from the area, Catherine returned home to Fergus with her husband, where they are raising their two boys. She is proud to once again be part of the community where she grew up.
At Gemination Dental CE, Catherine brings her extensive critical care background and commitment to patient safety to our clinical education programs, supporting participants and patients throughout their hands-on learning experience.
Outside of nursing, Catherine loves travelling and hiking—especially when there is a beautiful view waiting at the end of the trail.

Laura Freeman, RN
Registered Nurse | Critical Care
Laura is a Registered Nurse with 10 years of experience spanning across critical care, emergency, and community settings. She is currently a Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist at WRHN and a PhD in Nursing candidate at the University of Ottawa. She is a member of the Canadian Vascular Access Association (CVAA) and was the recipient of a CVAA Grant to support nurse training on ultrasound guided IV insertion in the ICU.
